Minecraft has been available for almost every VR headset other than Quest, but that's beginning to change with the beta version of 'QuestCraft,' the unofficial Quest port of Minecraft Java Edition.


The project was believed to be dead. However, QuestCraft just released its first public build.


This package includes the majority of Minecraft Java Edition's fun and flexibility, along with motion controller support that allows you to build, chop, and slash with your own hands in VR.


That means you'll need a legit copy of Minecraft Java Edition to play, although installing and playing it on Quest is free. Take a look below at the gameplay teaser.


QuestCraft is still a beta version and needs some love for multiplayer. The servers are up and running. However, local LAN gaming is easier and more accessible if a friend wants to play Minecraft multiplayer.

To play QuestCraft, you'll need to download the APK to your Quest using SideQuest, the unofficial sideloading software and library for Quest. Here's an overview of SideQuest, including how and why you should use it.


Installing QuestCraft is not as easy as downloading it from SideQuest. To get it working, you will need to jump through several hoops, including installing QuestCraft, plugging in some extra files, and giving all required permissions.
