No NFTs In Minecraft, Mojang Says

The update begins with a quick rundown of what NFTs are, including a note about their extreme volatility, before laying out the current policies on Minecraft servers. The overall goal of those policies, Mojang said, is "to ensure that Minecraft remains a community where everyone has access to the same content." NFTs, however, are designed to "create models for scarcity and exclusion," which is clearly contrary to that principle. They're out.

Mojang said that blockchain technology is not allowed to integrate into our client or server apps. Additionally, Minecraft in-game content, such as worlds and skins, persona objects, or other mods cannot be used to create a limited digital asset.

The update was apparently prompted by the fact that numerous Minecraft-associated NFTs and play-to-earn servers are already available, taking advantage of the gap in official policy and dividing the community into "the haves and the have-nots," Mojang said.

Concerning NFTs, some "may not work reliably and may end in costing players who purchased them", is another concern. Blockverse, an unofficial Minecraft NFT gaming game (opens up in new Tab), vanished in January with more than $1.2m. It's just one of many NFT-related criminality (opens up in new Tab) that we've seen in the past few years. This is especially true for Minecraft as its audience is younger than most other games. Extremecraft It is more likely to be a victim to scams.
