But how do you enter Minecraft commands? Thankfully, Minecraft console commands are wonderfully simple to use. They're as simple as inputting Minecraft seeds. When creating a new Minecraft world, you'll be asked to choose whether or not to allow cheating. After selecting yes and loading up the world, you'll have to hit the "C" key to pull up the command bar, which is where you'll enter all of your cheats and commands.


Any command you enter in single player will need to be prefixed with a forward slash. (/); multiplayer commands will not work with this prefix.


It's as simple as typing the desired command in the text box, then pressing the "Enter” key.

Kill /kill Kills your characters, and also adds another player's name to apply the command.


Weather/weather WeatherType allows you to choose the weather of your world or. The options include snow, thunder, rain and snow.


Creative mode/gamemode creative Changes the gamemode to Creative mode that allows players to fly with unlimited resources, and also stop mobs from attacking you.


Survival mode/gamemode survival Changes gamemode to Survival mode. This means that mobs are going to attack you, and you'll have to gather all resources in the traditional method.


Set time /time set 1000 Sets the day's time. For dawn, noon and night substitute "1000" by "0", "6000" or "12000" and "18000" and "18000" respectively.


Change difficulty to Peaceful/difficulty peaceful Changes difficulty into Peaceful mode. Replace "peaceful" with "easy", " normal" or "hard" for more of the challenge.


How do you locate your world's seed code /seed This will generate a code for your world, note it down to be able to load up an identical one in the near future.


Keep inventory in case you die /gamerule keepInventory true Make sure you don't lose your items upon dying. To revert this you must type "false" in place of "true"


Stop time / gamerule doDaylightCycle false This will stop the game's day/light cycle in it's place, allowing you to enjoy the sun's rays or moonlight. To start the day/light cycle again simply type "/gamerule/DaylightCycle true".

Summon /summon Instantly drops an object or creature you want into your world, particularly useful when you're running out of two ocelots that you can tame.


Atlantis mode/atlantis dramatically increases world's water levels and submerges all but the highest mountains.


Ride/ride Changes the creature you're facing into a mount.


Instant mine/instantmine Mining using any tool


Freeze/freeze Stops mobs from getting away.


Fall damage/falldamage turns fall damage on and off.


Fire damage /firedamage Turns fire damage on and off.


Water damage /waterdamage Switches off water damage and off.


Smelt item /superheat Turns everything into smelted form.


Instant plant /instantplant No more waiting around for a planted seed to grow.


Dropstore/Store Items All inventory items are stored in a chest that appears near.


Items damaged or damaged by items are no longer susceptible to degrading or being damaged.


Duplicate/duplicate Copies and drop the item stack that you have set up.
